It is so nice to see my artwork in a nice big room.
You can see my spring exhibition, “Untangled – Follow the red string” at the eye doctors Mona Vale between September and November 2020.

I am honoured to be featured. The local magazine, Pittwater life wrote about my exhibition.
So thrilled to see about my exhibition on a magazine!

You are not Alone

My new work, Thinking of You 1 & 2

Thinking of You 2

“Thinking of You 1 & 2”
94 x 94cm each
Mixed media on canvas, framed

We have lost our freedom to travel because of the Corona pandemic at the moment. We can still talk on the phone, we can see each other on the monitor srteens, but I still feel the distance.

We can’t touch, smell or feel the warmth of other people through machines.

I created the artwork while thinking of someone who lived far away and wish for them a happy and healthy life.
You are not alone.

Origami Cats Family

Challenge to make a big cat

cats family

I responded for a request to make a large origami.
It is easy to make origami with the regular size, 15x15cm origami paper.
But not so easy to make a big one.
At first, I had to look for a large paper which I can still fold nicely.
Here is the biggest cat I have ever made….so far.

Moon Bunny

Can you see a bunny on the moon?

Origami bunnies

In October in Japan, we celebrate a full moon night with special sweets and plants.
We call it “OTUKIMI” and enjoy watching a beautiful full moon.

I have received a request to make an origami work with the theme of the moon bunny.
So here it is. A bunny family enjoy watching a big moon.

Spread the love for origami

Attend the 60th birthday celebration for our Emperor
.

Honoured to be invited!

I am so delighted to receive the invitations each time from Consulate of Japan, Sydney for their functions since 2015.
To show my gratitude, I created an artwork with cranes to the birthday gift. And I wish our Emperor for his long & healthy life.

There are many important Japanese businesses in Sydney which have been contributed a lot to the economy. But the Consulate of Japan recognises my glass-root activities for origami. That’s a huge encouragement not only for me, but also all the enthusiasts for the Japanese culture without being in big organisations. We love our culture and we are working very hard in Sydney.

The word “Origami” came from Japanese word, but the origami is for everyone, not only for Japanese.
When I look around me, there are more non-Japanese origamists whom I really respect them and their works.
I will just do what I can do and spread the love of origami.
I also want to know what others do and we can connect and create origami future together.
