Art Installation at Sydney Town Hall

Tea room & origami installation

Art installation at the beautiful Sydney Town Hall.
It was a part of Japanaroo+ Festive Season Concert installation.

It was a big sweaty day and fight against a clock, I was at the Town Hall from 8 am till 11 pm at night!
However, I really enjoyed being a part of the team and the venue was amazing.  The concert with many talents was amazing.

Fold Santa & a Christmas tree with me for this Christmas!

Origami Christmas

My origami tutorial video for Lane Cove Council.
I made the first video for Lane Cove Council in May for Mother’s day and due to the popular demand, I’m back again!
I’m very happy to do another video.

Santa is very easy.
You need to use scissors to make a tree, so it may be tricky for some children.
The video is for everyone!

Although I enjoyed the online workshops, I’m really looking forward to having face-to-face workshops.
I have scheduled a special origami workshop for adults at Kintsugi Australia Studio for Japanaroo+.
There are many reasons to do origami. I often say that origami is yoga for your brains. A nice exercise is good for your healthy life.

Origami Koinobori (Koi Fish Streamer) Project

Origami Koi Fish Kite

I’d like to show you my Koinobori. I have run this origami project and made the Koinobori at schools and community groups. I hope you will like it as much as I do.
People in Japan hoist their Koinobori to celebrate Children’s day. The Koinobori in the video are different from the traditional Koinobori. They are made with many origami samurai hats (Kabuto).
Additional information: The Koi fish head is attached to a wire coat hanger. Recommend to laminate the head.
Happy folding~!

Online Group Exhibition is on NOW!

Rusted on gallery 5
Group Exhibition, “RUSTED ON” looks really nice! it is a showcase of Primrose Paper Arts Inc. members’ new work. The online exhibition is on now and my work is included in Gallery 5.
“Wabi-Sabi Polyhedron Lampshade”: Rust can be translated into the Japanese word ‘Sabi’. The same pronunciation Sabi, from Wabi-Sabi, means Japan’s unique concept of beauty. Nothing lasts forever. I created a lampshade with the pages from an old torn book written by Charles Dickens.
The exhibition was created by Claire Brach.

Lost Bird Found Project in November

lost bird project 2

I created some hand-made birds for the Lost Bird Found Project which is to raise awareness and spark conversations about mental health.
Would you like to participate in the program with me? Let’s create your own birds and hide them for others to find and keep. It will be better with more participants! Birds are a symbol of freedom, hope and wisdom. For more info, please check North Sydney Council’s website.

I made a video with my bird. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb_ecAJykZc
