Story of Arachne

My new work, Weaving Tale was created based on Greek mythology.

Weaving Tale

“Weaving Tale”

Acrylic on canvas

I was inspired the Greek mythology, the Story of Arachne, the weaver.

In Greek mythology, Arachne was a talented weaver who bragged that her skill as better than Athena, the goddess. As a punishment, Arachne was turned into a spider and kept spinning forever.

Origami & Chigiri-e, Flock of Geese

Watching the geese flying

FlockOfGeeseFramed

More than one thousand years ago, female writer Sei shonagon wrote in her famous Pillow Book, “The best time of the day in Autumn is the sun set…. It is more interesting to see that the flock of geese are flying far away……”

I created this artwork responding to Sei shonagon’s quote.
The big moon in the sky watches the flock of geese in the early hours of the evening. I always enjoy watching the flock of geese flying in the sky.

I donated this artwork for Art Gallery of NSW staff charity exhibition.
All the money will go to Women & Girls Emergency Centre in Redfern.
