I hand painted with the traditional Japanese paints on Japanese washi paper.
Then folded origami roses one by one.
I added a knot with a red string – Double leaf knot is a very special knot which bring you a very good luck.
As a creator myself, I am so happy what I created.
Gives me a big smile each time I see the work.

Well done Parkdale PS!
Credit card commercial
While ago, I worked for the bank credit card commercial. It was a fantastic experience working with many different special talented people at Collider.
Here is their page:
Collider worked closely with origami artist Midori Furze to develop this spot for NAB Credit Cards. We recreated each of Furze’s two-times scaled paper models in CG and animated the folding in the spirit of stop-motion animation by using 3D blend-shapes.
My work found a new home!
My latest origami work, flock of geese found a new home.
The organiser told me that it was a popular work and she wanted to buy it but it was out-bid!
I was in Spain, so I couldn’t go there so I am glad to hear the good news.
they raised almost $12,000 at the Art Gallery of NSW charity exhibition.
All the money went to Women & Girls Emergency Centre in Redfern.
Watching the geese flying
More than one thousand years ago, female writer Sei shonagon wrote in her famous Pillow Book, “The best time of the day in Autumn is the sun set…. It is more interesting to see that the flock of geese are flying far away……”
1000年以上前の随筆集、枕草子に女流作家の清少納言がこう書きました。“秋は夕暮れ。(中略)まいて雁などの連ねたるがいと小さく見ゆるは、いとおかし(後略)”
I created this artwork responding to Sei shonagon’s quote.
The big moon in the sky watches the flock of geese in the early hours of the evening. I always enjoy watching the flock of geese flying in the sky.
I donated this artwork for Art Gallery of NSW staff charity exhibition.
All the money will go to Women & Girls Emergency Centre in Redfern.
Watch how it changes – origami lampshade
Watch the video, how the lampshade changes the shapes.
Love it!
My new origami lampshade, Mono no Aware
I am very excited to show you my new origami lampshade!
I use the LED tea lights which doesn’t get hot, so it is safe to use with paper.
You can turn to change the shapes, “Mono no Aware – The Beauty of impermanence”
My new origami lampshade is now exhibited at Art Muster exhibition for Manly Arts Festival.
My three paintings of Mono no aware series are next to my lamp!
