Amazing SMASH!2022

Weekend experience at Manga & Anime convention

Image SMASH

Thank you for my workshop participants at SMASH!2022!
With your participation, my first Sydney Manga and Anime Show went very well.

When the organiser contacted me if I’m interested in running Origami Workshop at Darling Harbour Convention Centre, I immediately said, “Sure!”
But I’ve never imagined that there was a very different world in Sydney. WOW
Fantastic cosplayers were everywhere. Beautiful girls and charming girls, handsome boys and unidentified unique characters.
Many manga & anime artists had booths and there were many manga goods on the tables.

Vibe, Vibe, Vibe, Vibe!

20,000 tickets were sold out 2-3 weeks before the event!
They must be looking forward to it very much. Me, too!
Great atmosphere.

Thank you for my origami workshop visitors.
It was nice meeting you all.

Fold with Love – Mother’s day workshop
We made origami flowers and put LED tea lights inside.
The LED lights don’t get hot, so it is safe to use with origami.
My special LED lights changes colours. Fantastic!! I am sure all the mothers would love the handmade gifts from their children.
Big thanks to Lane Cove Council to run my origami workshop before Mother’s day.
Everyone worked hard and they were all wonderful!
Well done everyone!!

Cherry Blossom Ball with Lights

Origami Evening Cherry Blossom Ball Lantern

Cherry blossom season has started in Japan.
I made an origami cherry blossom and put on some LED lights.
Love a little Japan on my table in Sydney.

11 years since the East Japan disaster

11 years on since 2011

2013Corso

I folded a giant crane on the stage in Manly, Corso in 2013.
It was one of the stage events for the charity after the East Japan Disaster in 2011.
Manly beach is one of the popular tourist spots and you can walk to the beach from the Corso.
Many people saw our stage and we collected donations.
People are so kind about donations and they enjoyed many performances on the stage.
The donations went to the Rainbow Projet for inviting Japanese children in Fukushima who has lost their houses and families to Sydney for a holiday trip.

Happy 1st anniversary, T Magazine!

Created an origami work for the magazine

Tmagazine

My response to the Talented Jordan Turner’s request for their magazine.
T Magazine turns 1. Congratulations, T Magazine!

Paper is a canvas to create, a page to write on. It is a medium to cut, fold and reinvent. Whatever the way you choose to tell the story you want to share, we can all connect with one thing. The act of holding that piece of paper in front of you and watching ideas come to life. That is the paper’s performance.

You can find his full article on T Magazine: https://taustralia.com.au/t-turns-1-papers-performance/#
